Dr. Ros completed medical school at the Universitat Autonoma in his native Barcelona, Spain. He moved to the United States to pursue his Diagnostic Radiology Residency and Imaging (Ultrasound, CT and MRI) Fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. Dr. Ros obtained a Master's degree (in Health Care Policy and Management) at the Harvard School of Public Health in 1998. He became the Chief of Gastrointestinal Radiologic Pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in 1984. In 1987 he moved to the University of Florida where he established and became the first Director of the Division of Abdominal Imaging. At the University of Florida, he was promoted to Professor, Director of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and appointed Associate Chairman.

In 1998 he moved to Boston to become the Vice Chair for Operations and Planning at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School, where currently he is the Executive Vice Chair and Associate Radiologist-in-Chief, Chief of Radiology at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Chief Operating Officer of Partners Radiology.

Current duties pertinent to IT include:

  • Coordination of the Research Council Department of Radiology, BWH/HMS with oversight of research activities including approximately one dozen laboratories.
  • Responsible for the operations of the Department of Radiology Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School including coordination between Administrative Directors, Chief Information Officer and Vice Chairs for Diagnostic Radiology and Ambulatory Radiology.
  • Chair of the Information Technology Council (Department of Radiology, BWH/HMS) with oversight of information systems, picture archiving and communication systems, radiology utilization.
  • Chief Operating Officer, Partners Radiology and Chair of the Radiology Operations Committee, the governing body of Partners Radiology which is constituted by the Department of Radiology of Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH), Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), NorthShore Medical Center, Faulkner Hospital and Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
